agriculture 農業
Japan faces a number of problems with agriculture, including a rapidly declining food self-sufficiency rate, a shrinking farming population, and the fact that Japan is one of the world's leading users of pesticides and additives.
Our goal is to purify the polluted earth, grow healthy vegetables, and contribute to society through contact with the soil.
Morgenstern Farm and Shambhala Farm use biodynamic farming methods and Japanese traditional methods.
We grow vegetables using farming methods suited to Japanese soil.
What is biodynamic farming?
Biodynamic agriculture is a farming method proposed by Rudolf Steiner in the 1920s, and is based on the idea of viewing soil, plants, animals, and humans as one harmonious "living organism."
These are its main features:
We do not use chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and instead place emphasis on the natural cycle.
Harmony and circulation: We aim to be self-sufficient on the farm by using compost, green manure, crop rotation, etc.
Celestial influence: The movement of the moon and stars is reflected in cultivation and harvesting, making use of the rhythms of nature.
Special preparations: Activate the soil with compost conditioners made from specific plants and minerals.
